Big beat? Breakbeat? Whatever you want to call them, there’s no denying The Crystal Method are certified legends on the global electronic music scene, and after a five year break they’re set to return with a new album in 2009. It’s called Divided By Night, and at present it’s slated for release on May 12th in the US.
As they have a habit of doing, The Crystal Method have compiled a dazzling array of guests for the record, including Peter Hook of New Order, Matisyahu, Emily Haines and Samantha Maloney of Metric, Jason Lytle of Grandaddy, UK indie band The Heavy, Justin Warfield of She Wants Revenge, and more.
The first single from Divided By Night is Drown In The Now and it features noted Matisyahu, the wildly unique reggae MC who is also a Hasidic Jew. Prior to the album’s release The Crystal Method will play their first live show in five years at the opening day of the Coachella festival in California on April 17th. World tour to follow, perhaps?
