Fresh from his month-long stint in a UK rehab facility for alcoholism, a shadow has been cast over Fatboy Slim’s future in DJing with his wife Zoe Ball reportedly keen to see him retire from the game. Tabloids in the UK have been having a field day with Fatboy’s struggles with booze, the latest updates courtesy of a ‘close friend’ who remains nameless.

“Zoe thinks Norman’s love of drinking comes from the DJing scene,” the unnamed source told Closer Magazine recently. “She wants him to stop DJing at clubs and concerts and produce music at home instead. She thinks it’ll help. If he stops DJing he’ll be at home more, will eat properly, will exercise and won’t be tempted back into drinking and partying.”

Whether the mysterious source can be believed or not remains to be seen, however Fatboy has shown he’s serious about getting his act together by taking an extended break from DJing to get his life back on track. At this stage he’s not due to return to the touring circuit until well into the European summer, with gigs currently scheduled for August.

pretty sure he owes us another tour when he has gotten his shit together. his set at goodvibes has been (and will likely remain) the biggest disappointment of 2009
