There’s no denying Richie Hawtin has proved himself as one of the electronic music scene’s most forward thinking identities, and his latest project will no doubt have his most ardent fans whet with anticipation.

One for the chinstrokers and geeks alike, Hawtin has jumped on the Twitter bandwagon and launched his very own application that posts his tracklistings direct to the micro-blogging platform as he’s DJing in real time. “The custom Twitter application was developed in-house by Richie Hawtin’s label Minus,” writes Beatportal. “It works by uploading song metadata through Traktor Pro’s inbuilt broadcasting functionality.”

Information on the music Hawtin dishes out during his sets is posted to his Twitter feed every 30 seconds, meaning you’ll be able to track and trace the stuff he’s playing more closely than ever before. Native Instruments, Traktor Pro’s developer, have been impressed enough by it to add the functionality as a permanent addition for their version 1.2 update.

Check out Richie Hawtin’s Twitter feed to see it in action, and while you’re at it don’t forget to follow inthemix as well!

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

funny and wankery, but it is good for those with iphones wanting to know the tune he is currently playing at that very moment.
