You know you’ve entered the zeitgeist of popular culture when you get yourself a million or more views on YouTube, and now US prog and tech house type Steve Porter can tick that milestone off his list with his quirky ‘Rap Chop’ remix of recent infomercial-turned-meme ‘Slap Chop’ gaining 1 million views on the video site.
Steve is a favourite of Australian audiences, having toured here several times and releasing his Porterhouse mix CD series on local label EQ. With his tongue obviously firmly planted in cheek, there’s no denying his remix is very well put together, creating a downright terrifying audio-visual display that’s got a heavy old school electro and hip hop vibe.
