Dutch house star Laidback Luke arrives in Australia for his second ever tour next week, and the anticipation for the visit is reaching fever pitch. As an honorary member of the Swedish House Mafia – having produced more than a few tracks alongside Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell – Luke recently gave inthemix a bit more detail on his notoriously speedy work ethic.

Rumour has it the Laidback Luke and Steve Angello collaborative effort Be was produced in just 4 hours, and we wanted to get the official word straight from the source. “Yes, Be was made in 4 hours!” Luke confirmed, however he also explained he hasn’t always worked so swiftly. “I had my years of making tracks in three weeks, EQing on hi-hats for half a day and such. Been there, done that, and now I take my experience to a much more efficient level of producing.”

Even more surprisingly, Be was also made on the very same day that they put together Get Dumb, which also featured Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell. “The guys were really happy with Get Dumb, [so] Sebastian Ingrosso went out to have a drink to celebrate. Steve and I were really in production mode still, and we decided to dive into the studio.”

Stay tuned for the full interview with Laidback Luke, come to inthemix soon, and don’t forget to check him out on his tour over the coming weeks:

May 30 – Family, Brisbane
May 31 – We Love Ministry of Sound, Perth
Jun 6 – We Love Sounds, Sydney
Jun 7 – Warehouse Festival, Canberra
Jun 7 – Winter Sound System, Melbourne
Jun 8 – We Love Sounds, Adelaide
