Recent Australia visitor Markus Schulz – last here for the Future Music Festival just a few months back – looks set to continue on his non-stop trajectory of global dance domination being named an official ‘festival resident’ for Godskitchen’s calendar of events for summer 2009, including their gigantic Global Gathering festivals.
The American trance identity, who ranked #8 on last year’s DJ Mag Top 100 and was also named Best American DJ at the IDMAs in Miami this year, is putting the finishing touches on a new album under the Dakota moniker, Thoughts Become Things. As a Godskitchen resident Schulz will play eight festival and arena events in Europe throughout the northern summer.
As a result of his commitments to Godskitchen, Schulz will now only have time to visit Ibiza four times over the coming season. But, having done the Ibiza circuit for quite a few years, he’s excited by the new challenge on the horizon. “It was a pretty tough decision to make as Ibiza plays a very special and an important part of the calendar for me,” Schulz said. “But after weighing it all up and the fact I’ve played there as resident for so many years, 2009 seemed like the year to try something different.”
