It was with a heavy heart that we reported the news that the superstar DFA project put together by James Murphy, LCD Soundsystem, would be put on indefinite hiatus. After the glorious Sound Of Silver LP, we were all hankering for more of Murphy’s sophisticated disco, but the man wasn’t prepared to deliver. Until now that is.

In a recent blog entry, the LCD main-man reveals some intriguing details about a new album he’s working on, presumably for LCD Soundsystem. “Last time I made a record I had a pretty brutal and miserable experience…this time I’m having a pretty great experience. I like the record more, but have no idea if that means it’s better or anything. It’s just more fun,” he explains.

Sure it’s not a release date or an album title, but just the news that the brains behind LCD Soundsystem is back and re-energised about making his sweet, sweet music again makes us very happy.
