After establishing himself as one of Twitter’s busiest proponents in recent months, Trent Reznor has had enough. The Nine Inch Nails frontman is unplugging his internet and getting back to the real world for a while. Apparently he’s fed up with the cyber-haters. After a heated war-of-words with members of the Metal Sludge forum, Reznor posted a typically verbose and entertaining diatribe on the NIN blog.
“Metal Sludge is the home of the absolutely worst people I’ve ever come across,” he rants. “It’s populated mainly by unattractive plump females who publicly fantasize about having sex with guys in bands.” Turns out some of these unattractive minions have been “spewing hate” at Reznor and his fiancé Mariqueen Maandig. It’s a jungle out there.
As a result, the man is “tuning out of the social networking sites because at the end of the day it’s now doing more harm than good in the bigger picture and the experiment seems to have yielded a result. Idiots rule.” He’ll be using his newly freed-up time “wrapping up the live version of NIN, DOING some cool new shit and spending as much time as possible with the most amazing woman in the world.”
