Collabs, collabs, collabs! Everywhere we turn, artists are collaborating! Yesterday we reported that Fatboy Slim, Justice and LCD Soundsystem main-man James Murphy were partnering up for a new Devo album, this morning we heard that The Prodigy were going to be recording with Dizzee Rascal, and now it turns out that Calvin Harris and Katy Perry are working together.

Not only has Calvin turned in disco-drenched remix for the deep-lung’d popstar’s latest single, Waking Up In Vegas_, but he’s also said to be writing a track for Perry’s next album. Speaking to the London Paper, Harris said that he and Perry had hit it off when the pair met last week. “We’re gonna record our track in L.A. in December. It’ll be for her next album so we’ll be writing it together. It would be a shame to go all the way to L.A. and not meet up with her. It’s a long way – we might go out and get on the… milkshakes”. We’re not 100% sure about the milkshakes thing, but hopefully that means they’ll do a Kelis cover?

We’re big fans of Calvin and his uncanny knack for hooky electro house, so anytime he lends his expertise to another artist makes the radio just a little bit more listenable. That said, we kind of think that Perry’s quirk-riddled husk would be grating in a club setting…

Get a taste for what Calvin and Katy’s collaborationg could offer with his Waking Up In Vegas remix below and hope for the best!
