Having already released the public nuisance-baiting Mad Decent iPhone app just a few months back, Diplo is back with another exclusive application for iPhone and iPod Touch users. The new app is in support of Diplo and Switch’s latest collaboration Major Lazer, and thankfully, this one’s not nearly as resoundingly pointless as the last app.
The new Major Lazer app is a spinoff of developer iZotope’s popular iDrum series and allows users to customize and remix a set of songs from the Major Lazer album Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazers Do. It’s actually a lot fun when you get into it, and twiddling and tweaking Diplo and Switch’s beats can become quickly addictive. If you make something you like, you can even assign it as a ringtone for your phone. The downside? It costs $8, which means we had to decide between buying it and getting lunch today. Looks like we’ll be going hungry.
Stay tuned for our upcoming interview Diplo himself, and check out Major Lazer’s Hold The Line video below.
