It’s common knowledge that subtlety is not Deadmau5’s strong suit. Renowned for his big, brash proggy electro house, Deadmau5 – that’s Joel Zimmerman to his mother – has also made his reputation as a provocateur, stealing the spotlight at the Grammy’s with his giant mouse-head and also calling all DJs ‘f#cking c#nts’ once upon a time. He also famously went out and got a big green Space Invaders-style creature tattooed on his neck, to the delight and dismay of many ITM readers. Since then it would seem as though Zimmerman’s developed something of a taste for eye-catching tattoos, and when he got his latest inked he decided to take a camera.

In the video, which you can handily check out below, we get to see Zimmerman in the process of receiving his latest tattoo, which depicts a set of scissors cutting through the veins in his arm. What makes the video even more compelling is the running commentary from his entourage – which includes Motley Crue icon and sex-tape star Tommy Lee as well as a fetishistic tattoo artist – who’re watching on in awe.

While we do approve of the position of this tattoo – the forearm instead of his neck –, the ‘cut-here’ instructions of the design are more emo than a room full of guy-liner and leather-bound journals.

But regardless of that, we wait with baited breath to see what Deadmau5 will do next, because whatever it is we know it’ll be entertaining.
