Yep, Calvin Harris has definitely got a new album coming out. From the volume of Calvin-related headlines that’ve been spewing forth over the last little while, it’s clear that the world is getting excited about having the UK sensation back in action, and before long he’ll be spreading his magic all over the world.

The latest story to emerge about Mr Harris is that the 25 year old producer has given up booze altogether. And here I was thinking that regular drinking habits were enforced by law in the UK! “It was a series of events where I realised it was getting embarrassing. When I saw myself on ‘T4 On The Beach’ in 2007 it was extraordinary,” Harris told Ireland Online about recognizing his problems with alcohol. “Usually I can remember things if I’ve been drinking, but I couldn’t remember being there. I was just watching and thinking, ‘Who is this guy?’ It sounded amazingly out of tune and I dived into the crowd,” he explained.

Having been off the sauce for eight months now, Harris reveals that the change has been a beneficial one. “I get a lot more done now that I don’t drink…I get up early and do stuff.”

The news seems to suggest that his new album Ready For The Weekend, will contain less songs about Merrymaking At My Place and more about Tea-making At My Place…
