It’s with an envious eye that we’ve been following the lead up to this year’s Exit Festival, which got under way this past weekend. However, according to worldwide news reports, the 10th anniversary of the Serbian festival has been overshadowed by the untimely death of a young patron on Saturday.
According to the BBC, 22 year old London man, Anthony Fisk, fell from a wall of the 17th Century fortress at which the festival is located, dying later that night in a nearby hospital.
The death of the Fisk follows on from last year’s tree collapse accident which claimed the life of an unlucky camper, an unsettling double-act for all involved with the event.
The four-day festival – which featured an enormous lineup of festival favourites like Kraftwerk, The Prodigy, Grandmaster Flash and Moby, as well as special back to back sets from big name DJs like Eric Prydz vs Adam Beyer, Kissy Sell Out vs Alex Metric Carl Cox vs Green Velvet, Sasha vs John Digweed, and Richie Hawtin vs Dubfire – continued on in the face of the tragedy, wrapping up on Sunday night.
