Already amassing a tsunami of hype and anticipation for his upcoming sophomore album, Ready For The Weekend, Calvin Harris is on the campaign trail, building up the record’s buzz with each passing day. He’s already hooked up collaborations with Dizzee Rascal and Katy Perry but now the latest move in the album’s lead-up is the premiere of the UK star’s next single, also titled Ready For The Weekend.

Posting on his YouTube account, Harris debuted not just the single but also its accompanying video clip. Striking off with a wave of bounce and glam kicks, Ready For The Weekend reads like a jaunty pop number. From there the chorus amps up the cheese with stinging synth stabs and some overblown soul diva vocals. It’s a big change from the thumping clubber that was I’m Not Alone and who knows what it spells for the upcoming LP.

One thing we can be sure of though is that soon enough you’ll be hearing this everywhere you go.

Dont really like it.. but it sounds like one of those songs that could become really catchy.. and then you have no choice but to like it...

Sounds like a male version of Kylie Minogue...boppy, jumpy, sugar-coated electro-pop-junk.
