Empire Of The Sun have enjoyed huge success on the back of their self titled album released late last year featuring the infectious singles Walking On A Dream and We Are The People.
Now, as Luke Steele prepares for Empire Of The Sun’s inaugural live shows as part of the Parklife festival – Nick Littlemore won’t be making it on account of studio commitments with his other little band, Pnau (full story here), ITM can exclusively reveal that chart-topping single Walking On A Dream will be re-released shortly featuring a remix from British house innovator and Buzzin’ Fly chief Ben Watt.
Member of seminal underground pop group Everything But The Girl, Watt has most recently made quite a name for himself as one of house music’s most forward-thinking producers.
His Buzzin’ Fly label is consistently-rated as one of the scene’s most innovative sources of proper, melodic house, and has showcased some wicked cuts in recent years from the likes of Justin Martin, Jimpster, Stimming and Watt himself, whose latest single – the brilliant Guinea Pig – is deep, techy house at its finest.
Watt’s no stranger to ITM either; he mixed our fantastic inthemix06 compilation a few years back alongside Ivan Gough, and remains a firm favourite of Australian crowds.
What this means for Empire Of The Sun fans is simple; a fantastic song is about to be retouched by a hugely-talented artist with nearly 30 years experience in the game.
We’ll be eagerly anticipating the release of Watt’s Walking On A Dream remix but in the meantime, stay tuned to our Festival page for more Empire Of The Sun and Parklife updates.
