When we tracked down UK producer and recent theft victim Adam Freeland to chat about what was rocking his world, the superstar clubber dropped some tantalizing details about a collaboration with Canadian synth rockers and die-hard Spinal Tap fans, Metric. Although cagey on the specifics of what he and the four-piece indie group were working on, his glowing report of the band had us hooked to find out more on the partnership.
Naturally, when ITM jumped on the phone with Metric vocalist, Emily Haines, ahead of her band’s debut Australian tour as a part of this year’s Parklife festival, we couldn’t help but pester the delightful singer about Metric’s hook up with Adam Freeland.
“Yeah it’s true, we have been doing something with Adam,” Haines revealed. “I’ve been a fan of everything he’s done so it was great to work with him at last.”
Much like Freeland himself, Haines refused to give too much away about the collaboration, but did tell ITM that it would involve some very engaging remixes.
“I don’t think I can say too much about it at this stage, but he’s been doing some remixes for us and they’re great. That’s all I’ll say. You’ll have to wait a little bit longer to hear more!”
While we’ll all have to wait for the fruits of the Metric/Freeland partnership, it won’t be long until Metric arrive for the national Parklife tour! Check out the band’s hit Help, I’m Alive in the clip below and stay tuned to ITM’s Festival Page at inthemix.com.au/parklife for all the Parklife updates.
