The foul-mouthed golden girl of the Ed Banger stable, Uffie (or Anna-Catherine Hartley to her folks), is officially expecting her first child, our homies over at Pedestrian.tv are reporting.
Already a long-running gag for Ed Banger sycophants and Hipster Runoff readers, Uffie’s pregnancy has now been officially confirmed by the electro-rapper in an interview with the Married To The Mob bloggers.
“MOB: Speaking of puppies, you’re about to have one of your own! Joining the hot young MILF club, I love it. I always find it so wild when women as young and on top of shit such as yourself have kids, what’s the experience like so far? Garcon, fille, nom?
UFFIE: “C’est une petite fille! Name, I am not quite sure, I have to wait to see her… But I have weird taste, I am sure I will be the only one who likes her name…poor, poor girl. But yes it was a little sooner than I would have planned…but it really is a blessing that has already changed my life extremely, for the better.
So there we go, she and her husband Andre will be having a baby girl and potentially ruin its life with some dreadful name like Sunship Moonbeam Jr. But before this article turns into a New Idea piece on expectant mothers, what we’re really interested in is how Uffie’s pregnancy will impact her long-awaited debut album that’s been three years in the making.
Apparently, the pregnancy won’t affect the release of Uffie’s first LP at all. When we spoke to Parklife’s larger-than-life DJ and host, Busy P, the Ed Banger label boss gave us the scoop on the album, saying that it would “definitely be out before the end of the year”.
We’ve been working with Mr. Oizo and Feadz on the main tracks of the album, and we have also got SebastiAn doing one track. Together that is about nine tracks completed, and now we are working with Mirwais to finish the rest of the album,” he explained. “I am really really excited to have him on the album. Mirwais is a genius. He is pushing Uffie onto some new stuff and I am really happy about it.”
