With his new album Ready For The Weekend due for release in a few short weeks, Calvin Harris is set to be once again launched into the stratosphere of constant touring, fandom and fame. Yet it would seem as though the Scottish muso is already tired of the limelight, revealing that he plans to end his solo career once he’s finished with Ready For The Weekend.

According to Data Transmission, Harris revealed to UK paper The Independent that he would abandon his solo work to focus on collaborations and productions for other artists – his resume already includes work with popstars like Sophie Ellis Bextor, Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry and two tracks with Dizzee Rascal.

“This is probably the last one. I don’t see what else I can do. For me to sing all the songs, it seems like that’s done now,” Harris told the paper. “This’ll be news to the record label but I think this is a line for me.”

Although it seems like drastic action for the eclectic pop producer, we don’t need to get upset just yet as Harris will likely be wrapped up with Ready For The Weekend for the foreseeable future.

Speaking of which, a promo copy of the album hit the ITM desk this morning…

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

Yes! Im serious, it makes sense. He obviously loves doing production work so hes definatley going to take a Stuart Price role for other artists which is good news, his production style is distinct so we still get the good stuff but he will get to do a lot

He did a awsome set at Field day this year in Sydney, better than Eric Prydz, the guy lost my vote by not flying over the pussy. But calvin would be much better on the producing side, he creates beats that show emotions, stuff that you get into when your

He's good but I think he slightly ripped off Slusnik Luna's Sun riff for his 'I'm not alone' single. Check it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFuWJLsr1zs (2:17mins - just sped it up and modified a key or two).
