Last month we reported that recent We Love Sounds crowd-smashers Guns n Bombs had called their love affair with pounding hipster-y electro tunes off for good. Citing some irreconcilable differences – Johnny Love wanting to take the project in a dubstep direction and Filip Nikolic was moving towards more minimal and insular sounds – we were sad to see the LA duo go their separate ways.

But we were watching some movie about awesome lions and one of them said something about a circle of life and accordingly, out of the ashes of Guns n Bombs Johnny Love has surged forth, throwing himself into his new Deathface project.

We’ve got the first fruits to come from the Deathface camp in the form of Love’s new mix, The Blood Has Gone Bad, streaming on ITM-FM as of today. We’re pretty blown away by the mix already as it shows the same knack for explosive bangers that we heard with GnB as well as plenty of wobbly, bottomed-out bass turns. Real tasty.
