Israel’s finest psychedelic electro group, Infected Mushroom, are no strangers to the wilder side of life, having become festival favourites at Melbourne’s infamous Earthcore spectacular with their mind bending live outfit. So it almost shouldn’t be very surprising to discover they’ve roped in an eclectic list of guests for their seventh album, the upcoming Legend of the Black Shawarma.
Due to drop on Paul Oakenfold’s revered Perfecto label overseas and locally on rising Onelove imprint Bandroom Records, Legend of the Black Shawarma sees Infected Mushroom enlist the vocal talents of Korn frontman Jonathon Davis and the man behind both Jane’s Addiction and the notorious Lollapalooza festival, Perry Farrell.
The duo have also reached beyond the grave for contributors, lifting the vocals of iconic rocker Jim Morrison for a cover of The Doors’ Riders Of The Storm.
With in the flesh collaborations from renowned oddballs Perry Farrell and Jonathon Davis and a Jim Morrison resurrection to boot we reckon this new Infected Mushroom album would’ve been perfect fodder for our recent Questionable Collaborations Countdown!

The first taste of Legend of the Black Shawarma comes in Davis’ collaboration, Smashing The Opponent, with the Korn leader even providing his directorial expertise for the video. Check it out in the clip posted below whilst we hang out for the Bandroom release of Legend of the Black Shawarma on September 11th.
