We gushed like giddy little kids back in July over the news that our favourite Italian club destroyers (sorry Bloody Beetroots!) Crookers had been diligently working on their debut album with the likes of Spank Rock, Major Lazer and frequent Chemical Brothers vocalist Tim Burgess. Now the word is out that the Stereosonic heavyweights have added some more big names to the LP and given it the rather apt title of Tons Of Friends. Nice.

According to US zine FACT, Crookers have been slogging away at Tons Of Friends with a look to release the record in January 2010. New guests to be added to the collaborative-heavy LP include Scandinavian electro-royalty Soulwax as well as rap maestro Kardinal Offishal and Xenomania’s Carla-Marie, who’ll both feature on Crookers’ new single, Put Your Hands On Me due to drop on Southern Fried in a matter of weeks.

The new run of guests will join the already star-studded list alongside Spank Rock, Major Lazer, Tim Burgess, Roisin Murphy, Kelis, Pitbull, Radioclit, Rye Rye and Madness. So huge.

Check out Crookers’ monster Kid Cudi below and get pumped up for their new album and their upcoming dates as part of this year’s Stereosonic festival and Foreshore festival, and you can get tickets starting today.

hmmm. im thinking maybe their recent productions (What Up, Ya'll) and remixes (Brittany Spears, Raven, Miike Snow..) being so shit were a result of them putting more time into this album. Fingers crossed they return to form as they were in 08. that or the
