Undoubtedly, the influence of German electro pioneers Kraftwerk is still being felt across modern electronic and dance music today, with everyone from Justice and Daft Punk to Radiohead and Coldplay owing a thing or two to the Kraut innovators. As such, it was a dream come true to have the machine-men themselves grace the stage at last year’s inaugural Global Gathering festival, but if you’re hungry for some more minimal electronic perfection then look no further than the upcoming re-issues of some classic Kraftwerk records.
According to Pitchfork, Kraftwerk have been oiling up their android cogs and are readying the re-release of a swag of material from their back catalogue as part of their new boxset, fittingly titled 12345678: The Catalogue. The expanded package will contain personally remastered copies of seminal Kraftwerk albums Autobahn, Radio-Activity, Trans-Europe Express, The Man Machine, Computer World, Techno Pop, The Mix and Tour De France. That’s a lot of Kraftwerk!
The total 12345678: The Catalogue package is due to drop on October 6th overseas, so keep your eyes peeled for a local release date soon. In the meantime we’ll be practicing our best robot impressions in the mirror.
