Dutch dancefloor master Tiesto has been throwing out some major curveballs all year shocking everyone with the unexpected guest list for his new Kaleidoscope LP due out in October, which features the vocal talents of indie rockers from Bloc Party, Metric, Sigur Ros and Tegan And Sara as well as bonafied popstars like Nelly Furtado, Calvin Harris and Sneaky Sound System. It was just last week that we revealed Tiesto had made another surprising move, hooking up with Dizzee Rascal for a track on the UK rapper’s new album. Well, it would seem as though Tiesto has more tricks up his sleeve, as news is out that the trance powerhouse has produced some new material for crunk rappers Three 6 Mafia.

Once you’ve retrieved your jaw from the floor, please believe us that this is no joke. As reported by Billboard, Tiesto has hooked up with the crunk pioneers, lending his inimitable stadium-sized touch to Feel It from the Mafia’s forthcoming Laws Of Power. Yes, that’s the same Three 6 Mafia that’s currently comprised of rapper/producers Juicy J and DJ Paul and that won an Oscar back in 2006 for their tune It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp. Crazy, right?

The track, which should see the light of day in the lead up to Laws Of Power’s release in November, is reportedly a ‘techno-flavoured number’ (though we reckon Billboard aren’t too knowledgeable on their dance sub-genres) and will also feature guest vocals from Flo Rida and Sean Kingston.

So what exactly is Tiesto doing in the company of such hip-hop big shots? Who the hell knows. But it definitely seems as though he’s determined to push himself out of his comfort zone, and we’ve got to respect that. Besides, we’re actually really interested to hear what Tiesto can do with a group like Three 6 Mafia, who’re usually capable of producing some bat-shit crazy club burners.

We’ll have more Tiesto news and Australian tour updates really soon so stay glued to ITM, in the meantime though, check out the clip below for an idea of what fruits the Tiesto/Three 6 Mafia collaboration might produce.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

Yeah, but back in the day it was good. Don't even compare Kanye/Daft Punk to Afrika Bambaataa. Planet Rock is where it's at.

Not this shit again? What's next? Tiesto producing for Weird al Yankovich? I'm okay with collaborations. But come on! Didn't Tiesto learned from Oakenfold about how crossing genres MAY ruin your career? He should be careful about his collaborations.

yeah this stinks, but he has been heading down the long chedder road for some time now, his new album will suck, this whole idea blows. tiesto and rnb - he should get off his high hourse and keep producing what made him famous. he just wants that number 1
