Boys Noize going hip hop?

It’s a trend we can’t seem to shake, with renowned dance music producers getting their gangsta on and going down the hip hop route. We’ve already seen big name artists like Tiesto, MSTRKRFT and David Guetta add a little RNB to their superclubs, and now word is out that the next dance star to get in on the urban crossover action is none other than German electro whiz Boys Noize.

In a review published this week on ilikemusic.com about the long awaited Boys Noize record Power, the critique was prefaced with a tantalising skerrick of information that the electro don (known as Alex Ridha away from the decks) had been farming out tracks to ‘the likes of Black Eyed Peas and Kelis’.

Whilst we already knew that Ridha had lent his inimitable Boys Noize touch to the Black Eyed Peas’ (indeed we included it in our rap-meets-dance encyclopaedia earlier this month) latest record, the Kelis news is new and pretty damn exciting. Gossip on the interwebs is that Kelis has tapped the German producer for multiple tracks on her next album, serving as a comeback for the Bossy singer who’s been in marriage limbo with Nas.

Rumour also has it that Kelis isn’t the only urban star beating down Boys Noize’s door, with thug-tacular rap mogul 50 Cent bartering beats from him as well. Whilst that makes (some) sense considering the two collaborated on a recent BEP remix, we’re still a little gobsmacked to wonder what the results of such a pairing could bring. It’s Fitty Cent! Crazy.

Stay tuned for the inevitable news that The Presets are producing the next Lil’ Wayne record.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

I'm all for dance artists using credible rappers such as Nas, Ghostface Killah etc, but when they resort to ringtone-rap stars like Akon, Lil Wayne and 50 Cent, alarm bells go off that the result is going to be shit. That's when you know they are just cha
