It’s something we’ve been feeling more and more this year, right there in the depths of our soul, that there’s been something missing. To point a finger right on it, we’ve all been feeling a lack of love from the Faithless camp. But before we get had the chance to get ridiculously emo about their long absence, the UK three-piece have announced the first details of their comeback. Oh happy day!
According to ITM’s English mates Data Transmission, the Faithless collective of Maxi Jazz, Rollo and Sister Bliss have just embarked on a new UK tour, down-sizing their stadium appeal to take their music to Faithless faithful in clubs across the country. It’s enough to make us antipodeans sick with envy, but thankfully there’s some more news to assuage our jealousy, namely, that a new Faithless album is almost upon us!
Speaking out about the band’s studio output since 2006’s To All New Arrivals, Sister Bliss confirmed that the group have been working hard on their sixth LP and that fans should expect to see a new single by the end of the year. The track, Sun To Me, has been floating around in dub form for a couple of months now, but the official release will be something to look forward to.
“[It was] inspired by the Californian sunshine, and the wide open spaces along the Pacific highway – Sun To Me hopefully shines a little light in these dark time.”
That’s definitely what we need to get excited for the return of Faithless, and ITM will once again renew hopes that the group will grace Australian shores with their presence over summer. In fact, Future Music Festival will be announcing its lineup for 2010 on Monday morning, so all fingers, toes and eyes will be crossed!
