The spirit of legendary “Madchester” label Factory Records – responsible for launching seminal bands like Joy Division, New Order and The Happy Mondays – will be revived in the form of a new nightclub, which will open in the space once used as the label’s head office.

Given the Factory Records catalog number FAC251, the club is backed by ex-New Order bassist Peter Hook, former Factory designer/architect Ben Kelly and speaker manufacturers Funktion One. Labelling itself as an “Indie Rock+Roll Club and Live Venue”, FAC251 will seemingly follow in the footsteps of the label’s former club venture The Hacienda, the iconic venue immortalised in the 2002 film 24 Hour Party People.

While there’s yet to be any announcement of events, residents or gigs at the club, what we can tell you is that it’s set to open later this month on January 29th. We can only hope Peter Hook sees fit to take some of his own sage advice when operating the venue, having released the rather amusing tell-all book The Hacienda: How Not To Run A Club just last year.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
