It’s the American music event that people from across the globe anticipate each and every year; the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. In 2010 it’ll take place from April 16-18, once again descending on the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

The lineup for the 2010 edition was revealed overnight, and it is once again set to be a breathtaking affair, with artists from across the spectrum of rock, indie, dance, hip hop and more all on board to appear.

With more than 130 acts on the bill, there’s sure to be something to float just about everyone’s boat. However that didn’t stop some news outlets bemoaning its lack of quality (what!), with the Los Angeles Times calling the lineup a ‘model for recessionary times’.

“Nothing on the roster announced this morning feels like a coup or a matter of huge debate,” whined Anne Powers of the paper. “There’s no baby boomer icon to fluster Generation X purists, and no surprise post-punk reunion… to fulfill the dreams of the same crowd.”

Despite the LA Times raining on Coachella’s parade, we feel the lineup is pretty damn solid, and you can check it out in its full splendour below. Time to book annual leave and check online for discount flights, eh?

One of the best fests on the globe for sure. I seem to recall a while back some talk about Coachella hitting some foreign shores, inc Aus. Guess that idea fizzed out.
