A 2008 cocaine charge against internationally renowned house music impresario Erick Morillo has been dropped by prosecutors in Scotland.
The 37-year-old was arrested by police after being stopped by customs at Glasgow Airport upon arrival in December, 2008. The owner of Subliminal Records pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Paisley Sherriff Court the same month, facing the charge of possessing cocaine.
Now after a little over 12 months, and following “careful consideration of all the facts and circumstances,” a Crown Office spokesperson told the BBC the charges had been dropped entirely.
The platinum-selling artist behind the 1994 hit I Like To Move It will hit Australia next month for the Future Music Festival tour.
