Steve Aoki and Bloody Beetroots’ Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo have come together once again to lift the lid on their much-talked-about new hardcore punk band Rifoki, unveiling their self-titled EP yesterday.

The project’s name may sound like a type of raw fish but the only thing raw is the sound. The aim was to get in touch with their punk rocker roots that, for reasons that baffle the mind, ended up sprouting into the electro house scene. Damn straight, the house music magicians crossed over to the dark side for the collaboration.

The eerie artwork on the Rifoki EP cover is by visual artist, Mark McCoy, who also happens to be a punk and metal band vocalist for the likes of Das Oath and the Dim Mak family. A special edition t-shirt will be released by Dim Mak to bask in the new collaboration celebrations.

Grab a taste of the duo’s chaotic new direction in the clip of Rifoki’s Sperm Donor below.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

I liked it but I thought it would be a bit more edgy, it really just is an average hardcore track. I was expecting some electronic elements to be in a song from two electronic artists :S

Not bad for hardcore - can't say that the ITM crowd usually digs this kind of music though.

I liked it. Not particularly surprised that the ITM crowd isn't impressed though. Then again, I can't stand Aoki & the Bloody Beetroots electronic stuff. As has already been said, different tastes. PS. wtf is the deal with the multiple posts?

I actually don't mind it at all, but I swear i've heard the song before. same riffs and same vocals as something else. It sounds more like gothenburg metal than hardcore punk though. Look up dark tranquility or soilwork for reference.

i like this sort of shit, particularly back in my younger days. This has the exact same riff from the theme song of the movie 28 Weeks Later but played a lot quicker
