With a new album done, dusted and set for release mid-year, and one of the world’s best labels in breaks standing strongly behind them, 2010 is shaping up to be Karton’s year in the sun!
Adding to that already impressive list, the Canberra production duo has been nominated for a Breakspoll award, thanks to their consistently killer remixes released on Swedish label Sound of Habib. This year, they’ve been nominated in two categories; Best Breakthrough Producer 2009 and Best Remix for Liz Melody – Skeptical (Karton Remix). Not too shabby right?
2010 will mark the 9th year that the Breakspoll awards have converged on London to celebrate all beats broken and otherwise bent, with this year’s ceremony taking place at the beloved Fabric nightclub on the 25th and 26th of February with two monster parties. And speaking of those parties, Australia’s own Karl Sav will be flying the flag for local breaks like the champion he is.
Voting for the year’s poll is now open and will run for just four short weeks, so if you want to show our golden boys of breaks some love, or even spread it round to other ITM favourites like Stanton Warriors and Lee Coombs, head over to http://www.breakspoll.com/vote.asp and cast your vote!
