Fresh off their rousing run of shows aboard the touring Big Day Out train, beloved UK dance music boffins Groove Armada have opened themselves up for a good cause, auctioning off their services on eBay to the highest bidder.

Teaming up with Oxfam as a part of the aid group’s relief effort for the earthquake-stricken Haiti, the Groove Armada guys offered up the chance for any artist out there – be they dance, rock, noise, bongo-beat – to have a track personally remixed by Groove Armada. Nice of ‘em, right?

Closing overnight, the auction saw bidders scramble to get their track stamped with Groove Armada’s trademark slick sounds – as well as to raise money for Haiti, of course – going back and forth with bids until the grand total hit the equivalent of around $3000 Australian dollars.

The identity of the winning bidder is unknown at this stage, but whoever they are they’ve just secured themselves a place alongside club mainstays like Madonna and Calvin Harris who’ve all felt the Groove Armada touch.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

What a bargain! Imagine how much more it would usually cost to get a Groove Armada remix of your track.
