ITMers across Australia already know how good tyDi is, after all it is this very audience that has voted the Queensland club prince into the top spot of ITM’s inthemix50 in back to back years, but as we all expected, it was only a matter of time before the rest of the world caught onto the unstoppable talent of tyDi. It would seem as though that moment is well and truly here, as tyDi is up for honours at this year’s International Dance Music Awards due to take place at March’s Winter Music Conference in Miami.
Now in its 25th year, 2010’s IDMA nominations find the Australian youngster unsurprisingly up for the trophy in this year’s Best Break-Through DJ category, which is fitting considering the dream run tyDi’s been on lately.
Competing against tyDi in the Break-Through DJ category are some renowned heavy hitters of the dance music community, including names like Boys Noize, Gui Boratto and Joris Voorn, so there’s no doubt that this one will be tightly contested.
A bit of home-town, or in this case home-country support wouldn’t go astray for the young DJ, so if you’re keen to get behind tyDi head over to the IDMA voting page to cast your choice once you’ve had a refresher course of tyDi’s talents.
The IDMA’s will be held during this year’s Winter Music Conference in Miami and is sure to be a cracker with the likes of Deadmau5, David Guetta, Cosmic Gate and Roger Sanchez all nominated in other categories. Stay tuned to ITM for all the winners and updates.
