It’s the movie that has managed to coax those eccentric French robots Daft Punk out of their cyber cave (or more likely their luxury chateau, let’s face it), and the anticipation to the release of Disney’s futuristic 3D epic Tron Legacy has been growing by the day.

This week saw another piece of the lead-up fall into place, with the launch of a new viral marketing website, FlynnLives.com – named after the first film’s computer-trapped protagonist -, which debuted a mysterious countdown sequence.

According to various online outlets, like ComicBookResources and IWatchStuff that we ITMers visit when we’re feeling especially nerdy, it is in fact a binary code countdown, ticking down to next Wednesday’s date. Speculation as to what will be the outcome of countdown has been debated with the ferocity of a level seven dark mage battling a swarm of ice giants. Will it be new footage? The first taste of Daft Punk’s film score? Or, as many online spectators are predicting, a new teaser trailer for the film? Squeal!
