It’s hard to believe that globally renowned UK nightclub Fabric kicked off their series of monthly mix CDs way back in November, 2001. Alternating between FabricLive and Fabric releases – in honor of their long-running Friday and Saturday night events – they recently reached the 50th installment for each, meaning the combined tally of releases is a genuine milestone worth celebrating… 100!

Looking through the list of DJs to have mixed Fabric and FabricLive CDs over the years it really does read like a who’s who of cutting edge and credible electronic music. From deep house, tech and minimal, through to breakbeat, drum & bass, dubstep and more, the series has always managed to serve up an interesting array of artists. The honour of mixing the 50th release was given to Martyn (Fabric) and Autonomic (FabricLive), and things show no signs of slowing down in the future with DJ T and Duke Dumont already lined up for the next two months.

Some of my personal favourites would have to be found in the earliest days of the series, with the mixes contributed by James Lavelle, DJ Hype, Jacques Lu Cont and Radioactive Man all on my high rotation list still to this day. But anyone you’ll talk to with any sort of interest in dance music will no doubt have their own stand outs. Which ones do you still get a kick out of?
