It seems like ITMers have been begging for the return of UK dance stalwarts Faithless for an age now – they even topped our list of the Most Wanted local tours in 2010 from earlier in the year – and although there have been whispers and little nuggets of new material from the group, we’ve thus far been left wanting more. Well at last it seems as though things are heating up at camp Faithless with the duo of Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz getting into gear for some heavy European summer touring as well as preparing a new single.
Officially set for release on May 3rd, Faithless will return with their comeback single Not Going Home, a naturally euphoric cut of studio hugeness from the group that clocks in at an epic seven minutes in length.
Offering up his interpretation of the tune, Faithless ringleader explained that Not Going Home was about “being determined to have a good time no matter what. You have to take your good time to the party rather than expect the party to be your good time.” Undoubtedly he and hordes of punters will be having some seriously great times when Faithless hit European festivals like Oxygen and Global Gathering in the coming months. Boo hoo!
To tide us over though, on the back of Not Going Home fans will find a bevvy of enormous remixes turned in by some titans of the scene including Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz and Herve. Such a big release is a testament to Faithless’ enduring profile and must surely mark their official comeback from between-album limbo. At least we really, really hope so. Aren’t you sick of waiting?
