With the increasing frequency that these stories about rappers landing themselves in hot water with the law seem to be appearing, we could almost make a case for starting up a section dedicated to ‘which rapper is in jail this week?’. The latest offenders to join the recent ranks of Method Man and Gucci Mane two of the game’s biggest plaers, Nas and Lil Wayne.

It was just last year that ITM reported on Nasty Nas’ initial legal dramas, in which the New York stalwart allegedly owed around two million dollars in taxes to the US government. It seems that Nas’ canoe has floated further up shit creek since then, with his IRS debt ballooning to a whopping three million in unpaid taxes. Dude, what the hell? Worse still for Nas, according to AllHipHop the rapper has more conflict on his hands from ex-wife Kelis to whom he owes over $200,000 in lapsed child support, which (unsurprisingly) could result in jail time for the embattled rap star.

In his up-hill battle to avoid a prison sentence, Nas should probably take a few cues from cough-syrup junkie Lil Wayne who despite being sentenced to a year behind bars earlier this year has managed to dodge his sentence on two occasions now – the first of which was due to an insane eight root-canals for the rapper and followed by a court-house fire which has since been ruled an accident. Whilst he’s rescheduled for a Monday court appearance, we reckon Wayne’s got a few tricks left up his sleeve.
