DFA Records mastermind James Murphy has been hinting for months now about the status of his beloved super-band LCD Soundsystem, letting us know that the album’s dubious working title was Internet Sensation! and that the anticipation for the third LCD record “made him want to throw up”. At last though it seems like Murphy is ready to lift the lid on the new album, yesterday revealing a release date and tracklisting for the LP.

Due out on May 18th (in the US), LCD Soundsystem’s third album effort will finally see the light of day, following hot on the heels of Murphy’s most recent work as composer for the film Greenberg’s soundtrack.

According to Pitchfork the new album clocks in at around 65 minutes and with only nine tracks on it, you can expect a lot of stretched out disco grooves and loops.

The May release date also lends credence to the early clues of an potential Splendour In The Grass birth for Murphy’s LCD troupe, something we certainly wouldn’t be complaining about! Check out the tracklisting below and stay tuned for more deets.
