Ah, isn’t it nice to be featuring some Deadmau5 news that’s not chronicling the Canadian troublemaker’s latest palm-to-face worthy tattoo or some wild televised hysterectomy but instead is about the mau5-headed producer actually making some new music. Bizarre, we know.

After the runaway success of last year’s For Lack Of A Better Name LP, Deadmau5 has been back in the studio, already working on a follow up record, and this time he’s inviting some special guests to feature on the new material. Namely, you and everyone you know.

As was announced in a press release over the weekend, Deadmau5 has hooked up with online portal The Public Record to invite fans and potential collaborators to submit snippets of music to the mau5-man who’ll then pick and choose the elements from whom he’d like to work with.

Members of The Public Record have now until the end of March (the 29th to be exact) to submit anything musical – read: techno-glockenspiel beats, fart orchestras – to Deadmau5 as long as they’re in the key of C and at 128BPM, as well as overdubs from March 30th to April 12th.

Sounds pretty crazy right? But crazy in a very good and interesting way, because not only will fans get the chance to collaborate and interact with Deadmau5, but the final product will see release on the next Deadmau5 album following its debut on the ‘mau5’s upcoming European tour in May.

Check out all the details over at The Public Record and leave us a comment in the box below telling us what you’d give Deadmau5 given the chance.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
