While it might be the end of an era for the Optimo club-night in Glasgow, its fearless leaders are soldiering on. JD Twitch and JG Wilkes have been announced as the latest set of hands getting to work on a Fabric CD.

The pair’s Fabric 52 will follow DJ T’s much-anticipated edition, and it’s going to be Optimo through and through. “We were really excited by the idea of a dancefloor-centric mix of tracks,” says Wilkes in the press release, and the tracklist certainly gives that impression. It looks like we’re in for the usual melting pot of house, techno, disco, funk and assorted curveballs.

Optimo will bid farewell to its iconic party with one final knees-up at the Sub Club on 25 April, with roadblocks sure to ensue. As the guys told us ahead of their tour earlier this month: “If the atmosphere is good and the people are up for it, ideally we would play the whole night from the doors opening to the lights going on.”
