Hide the glow-sticks, Tiesto is coming back to your stereo, the mighty Dutchman announcing his plans for a brand new series of mix compilations entitled A New Dawn.

As reported today by Mixmag, Tiesto will be forging new ground with the freshly minted A New Dawn series, following on from his well loved In Search Of Sunrise sets, which Tiesto bowed out of after 2007’s In Search Of Sunrise 7: Asia mix.

“Having taken the ISOS series as far as I could, I felt it was time to leave the past behind and come with something fresh and new. ISOS was an incredible journey for me, but as my music taste evolved, I wanted my DJ mix compilation to evolve with it,” the trance don said of the fresh start with A New Dawn. “The mix album has always been a very important part of my artistic expression as a DJ and I wanted to come with something really special that pushes the boundaries once again for what this format can be. As I continue to explore and develop as an artist and DJ, I am constantly inspired by those around me and the other artists I meet. I can’t wait to share it with the world!”

The first installment of A New Dawn is due for release later in the year (the European autumn season) on Tiesto’s also burgeoning Musical Freedom label that the producer established after parting ways with Black Hole Recordings in 2009. We’re intrigued.

I was actually pleasantly surprised by his Kaleidoscope album. And this is coming from someone who ditched trance in 2002 for breakbeat. Curious to hear his new mix...
