Currently ruling our world as the inthemix obsession for 2010 – well there’s that and laughing at David Guetta’s male camel toe (mamel toe?) – the wait until December for the release of Tron Legacy and more importantly it’s Daft Punk-scored soundtrack is looking to be an agonising one. But even though we’re a solid eight months away from a release date, that hasn’t stopped the powers that be green lighting a sequel to Tron Legacy. Twist!

As reported by every other like-minded geek outlet on the internerd, the studio behind the Bangalter and Homem-Christo assisted Tron Legacy, Disney, is so wrapped with the new movie that they’re working on an additional follow-up feature, faster than you can say ‘pass me my inhaler’.

According to a news piece from Reuters, Disney have already enlisted the scribes behind Tron Legacy Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz to work on the next movie which will round out the Tron series to three films. Tron Triology? OMGZ YES.

Because we don’t want to clog up the music news section with too many drool sessions over Tron Legacy from now on all the straight up movie content will be found in our freshly minted movies section in the ITM Lifestyle guide. We’re still trying to think of a name for it…intheflix? inthemovies? ITM Movies? None of the above? Let us know what you think. But if you’re hungry for some more cinematic sustenance head over there and get into some of the movie juice we’ve already started rolling out. And for those that needed another dose of bliss, the new Tron Legacy trailer with all new Daft Punk music is once again below.

as much as i love Daft and cant wait to see this film, that music sounded no different to a typical action film background track and pretty fkn boring
