As if he himself saw the comments in this week’s Dance Music Backlash countdown calling for fellow club cheese ball David Guetta to be the rightful ruler of the #1 spot, Dutch trance king Tiesto has dropped a grand piano on the camel’s back and cemented his backlash reign by revealing plans to work with Britney Spears.
Whilst trawling the gossip sections of Britney fan sites isn’t quite the outlet we look at when we go news hunting, a recent post on (I can’t believe I’m even typing this) GimmeBritney pointed to rumours of a hook-up between Tiesto and the sullied pop starlet Spears, with a tweet from the singer’s label rep declaring Camp Britney’s ‘love’ for the producer.
Putting our noses to the ground like fevered truffle-hogs we then found confirmation of the credibility shredding collaboration, with quotes from Tiesto’s people turning up online via a Dutch newspaper. According to the story on SoundOffMusic Tiesto is indeed working with Britney, apparently spending “a lot of time” together as they search for the “right sound” to go with Britney’s next album.
This news of course follows on from the word that David Guetta was set to lay his sexy bitch touch to Spears’ next record, the combination of all three being so mammoth that new, extra cheesy pizzas would surely be baked in their honour.
Meanwhile, Tiesto’s keeping his collaborative bent very busy, also hooking up with South African avant-indie group BLK JKS to work on a track called Dreaming. From ambitious South African indie rockers to Britney Spears, someone put him back on the meds, and quick.
