It’s no secret that winter is upon us and the chill already setting in. But although things tend to usually quiet down over the winter months in the dance community, ITM is here to fight off Jack Frost and stand defiant and say that it’s not all doom and gloom.

As well as the fated arrival of the 2010 winter festivals We Love Sounds, Winter Sound System and All Our Friends on Australian turf next month, we reckon that the winter season provides ITMers with the perfect opportunity to rug up and dig into some meaty, high quality dance music.

To go along with the raft of big winter releases that we’re currently blessed with, we’ve had a little dig through our record crates and picked out a collection of what we reckon are essential winter albums to keep you company during the cold snap.

When thinking about the list we tried to go for that feeling you get with a prized winter record, something that maybe envelopes you in a warm flannel sheet of sound whilst the weather outside rages grizzly, or something that gets your ready for the warmer months ahead. The list is by no means exhaustive, so hit us up with your picks below and then we can prep round two!

My fav wintery album is Nosaj Thing - Drift, kinda reminds me of Ratatat...In saying that Ratatat - LP4 (out June 4) will also be perfect for the cold months
