Battling the horde of big weekly dance music parties and festivals going down in Europe over the northern summer season was never going to be easy for North American club fans who, like many daydreaming Australians, are often forced to look elsewhere for their dance music fix. Not so in 2010 it would seem. Already Detroit’s Movement has produced another storming year of fun, with New York City’s *Electric Zoo set to follow that up. And of course there’s the upcoming Electric Daisy Carnival – quite the name, right? – which also looks the business.
Going down at Los Angeles’ Exposition Park later this month, the 2010 Electric Daisy Festival will play host to some of the clubbing community’s biggest and brightest stars, with the two day event nabbing big-name headliners in Armin van Buuren, Deadmau5 and Above & Beyond all bringing their visual heavy setups to the LA people.
Also locked in for the festival are a string of enviable acts including Kaskade, Benny Benassi, Calude VonStroke, Moby, Armand Van Helden, Laidback Luke, Afrojack and local pinup Steve Aoki. They’ll be joined as well by A-Trak in his collaborative guise, playing the decks ‘n drums show with Travis Barker.
The festival goes down on June 25-26 so people in the area should definitely suss it out and report back to ITM. And if the pictures from past events are anything to go by, don’t forget to pack your craziest clown raver outfit.
