I don’t know about you, but the first thing that I usually think of when I jam The Wu-Tang Clan’s seminal Enter The Wu-Tang – 36 Chambers is dudes in eyeliner performing show-tunes. Am I right? It would seem so, as apparently the iconic New York rap collective is headed to Broadway for a musical adaptation of the Wu-Tang back catalogue.

As reported by Clash, the news of the potential musical production comes straight from the killer bee’s mouth, with RZA revealing that the offers to get some Wu representation on the stage have been rolling in.

“I got people reaching out to me about Carnegie Hall,” RZA said of a possible venue for the Wu-Tang musical, or as we’ll call it from here on out, the Wusical. “I thought about doing Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) I dreamed I can do it on Broadway cause I make my albums like movies. That album is like a movie for me, it’s a map also. It means a lot for the music, but it means so much more.”

So, just to clarify that, 36 Chambers is an album, but it’s also a movie, and it could be a high concept musical. And it’s also a map…? What the fuck, man? Lay off Method Man’s stash!

“I’ve been invited to Carnegie Hall for this year, I turned it down because I’m not ready yet,” RZA went on to say. “I think in five years it could be done, actually.” Get your W’s up, Carnegie Hall!
