Word up, Australian gig-goers. Any dance fans planning to attend the upcoming Splendour In The Grass festival or the combined sideshow dates of LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip need to know one thing: don’t throw any shit at LCD frontman/genius James Murphy.

Of course nobody down here would do that because Australian audiences are gentle and civilised, but over in the UK it’s a very different story and over the weekend a punter at the annual Wireless Festival felt the wrath of Murphy according to NME, with the main-man spitting out some venom after being bottled by the offending crowd member.

“Hey, anonymous asshole throwing stuff, do that to my face and I’ll kick your face in,” Murphy raged in a surprisingly aggressive tone for the messiah of chin-stroking disco hipsters.

With the crowd apparently behind him, Murphy calmed and went on to joke “and then I’ll pay your medical bill”. Well at least the bottles didn’t break his sense of humour.
