Last month, Vegas party king Paul Oakenfold announced that he was at work on a tribute song for the victims of the 2010 Love Parade tragedy. As the DJ’s Twitter feed revealed, the track – entitled Remember Love – is a collaboration with trance titans Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk.
Speaking with MTV in the US this week, Armin confirmed the tribute will be released under the moniker DJ United. “We were so shocked about what happened here in Duisburg in Europe that we thought about doing a track together,” the Dutchman said. “I’m actually bouncing back and forth with Paul van Dyk the final version of that track.”
Armin also hinted that he’d be airing the finished product at this weekend’s Electric Zoo Festival in New York, when he headlines the Sunday night festivities alongside Moby, John Digweed, Above & Beyond and many, many more.
We can only hope that Remember Love enjoys a better reception than Paul Van Dyk’s ill-fated Berlin Wall anthem from last year. You know the one.
