While ITMers are likely still in a state of blissful happiness following our news scoop that both Caribou and Four Tet would be touring together over summer we still don’t have any solid info concerning the when and where that tour will take place. But to help the waiting game go by, there’s now news that fans will be treated to a sensory expanding live album from the Canadian genius known to his mum as Dan Snaith.
Credited to the Caribou Vibration Ensemble, the Caribou live album will recount Snaith’s appearance at the 2009 All Tomorrow’s Parties festival in New York, where he performed with a 15-piece backing band that included Sun Ra Arkestra, touring Four Tet buddy Kieran Hebden and four drummers according to Pitchfork, so expect a lot of percussive awesomeness.
The live set will be packaged as a double vinyl affair and backed with a DVD recording of the ATP show but oddly enough it won’t be sold in stores, only at merch desks on tour. Even more of a reason to get excited for 2011…
