Techno fans will be excited to hear that defining electronic festival Movement is set to launch an Asian edition in 2011, with the line-up done in collaboration with Movement Torino and Detroit.

A pre-launch party will be held this Saturday 25 September in Singapore, the same weekend as Singapore’s Formula One. Joining the original three-day Movement Detroit and its Italian counterpart Movement Torino, Movement Asia will stake its claim with Detroit’s own innovator Derrick May headlining the pre-launch.

Several Movement Asia events will also be organised across the region, with key Movement artists and a selection of the best Asian DJing talent. With flights cheap to Asia for Aussies, it might be a good reason to get over to Singapore for more than just eating and shopping.

2010 will also see Movement Torino celebrate five years across the weekend of on 28-31 October 2010. The line-up certainly means business, too. Joining headliners The Chemical Brothers is a host of Motor City greats including Anthony Shakir, Kyle Hall and Keith Worthy. In line with the Detroit event, there’s also a strong contingent of European DJs like Motor City Drum Ensemble, Dixon, 2manydjs and Ellen Allien.

With that kind of precedent, we’re keen to see who will be amongst the acts for Movement Singapore.
