Trance Energy drops the 'Trance' in 2011

Legendary Dutch festival Trance Energy is dropping the ‘Trance’ from its title in 2011. Late last week, promoters ID&T revealed that the next edition in Utrecht on 19 February will simply be called ENERGY. No acts have yet been publicised for the party, but ID&T has assured fans that no compromise will be made on its musical make-up.

Regardless, trance message-boards are abuzz with concerns that the Trance Energy era is now over. The 2010 line-up was a true show-stopper, loaded with some of the scene’s leading names. Among the DJs were Above & Beyond, Sander Van Doorn, BT, Markus Schulz and, curiously, an appearance via satellite from Dutch master Armin Van Buuren.

Despite some suggestions that trance is becoming less of a bankable tag in Holland, the event typically attracts a crowd from all over Europe and beyond. There’ll no doubt be very keen interest in the line-up for ENERGY 2011.

so if they have dropped the trance that means it can be used by anyone?

serially Perth promotors use it and bring a trance event back to Perth for the summer. TE here was off the hook, awesome venue! we want it again!

hey guys, dont believe there is any plans to bring it back to australia at all... this story is about the dutch event, hence it being posted in 'international news'.

trance energy or 'energy' will never return to Australia. Australian cities do not hold a large enough trance following to bring out all those names, all those big dj's need to be paid and australia simply didn't buy enough tickets. With regards to Trance Energy, ID

No it left Australia cos of some WANKERS in melbourne who were poppin pills and had to go to hospital!!! The promoters claimed they did not want illicit drugs being associated with their events and hence pulled out after just one tour!
All you drug abusers ruin the fun for the rest of us!!!!

although i do usually enjoy mebourne and indeed melbournians for fucking up australia (ie muscles, afl, etc), im pretty sure the promoters were just using this as a excuse as ticket sales were indeed shite

FUCKING HELL. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO TRANCE?!?!?
It no longer sounds like Trance, they are making the best trance event ever no longer just trance... ahhh so sad! KEEP IT OLD SCHOOL!
Despite some suggestions that trance is becoming less of a bankable tag in Holland -> if they are saying this in HOLLAND ( the home of the BEST trance DJs) What hope is there :(

This is just to sum up how and why my world is ending!!!!

AND in regard to trance energy and Australia - YES you are all right it will NEVER return and maybe ticket sales and trance fan base in Australia is not good enough - but the main reason is because too many people blew out, my dads a paramedic and he worked on the event and it had to close early due to too many blow outs (G aka liquid ecstasy).
Though trance may not be huge here, those events do sell out - purely just for the idea of it- and the name and title. Plus the last trance energy was HUGE - there where adds and everything, after the adds EVERYONE (even people who probably couldnt name more than 5 trance tracks) Had LED there be Light as a ring tone ( speaking of which, what a sick track)

I won't lie, i do take, but i have never been sick from it, nor will i ever- i go for the music, not as an excuse to get fucked up, which is why most people do go and ruin it, half of them don't even appreciate trance! and i would never touch G as its the main cause of our dance scene dying!
